In the tube heat exchangers, the heat transfer surface is the pipes that give the heat exchanger its name. While one fluid flows through these pipes, the other fluid flows in the body parallel or crosswise to the pipes. Therefore, heat transfer takes place on pipe surfaces. In case of high pressure or temperature, instead of a sealed heat exchanger or soldered heat exchanger, tubular heat exchangers are preferred.
